Dr. Diaa Essam El-Din Rizk
Dr. Diaa Essam El-Din Rizk is a Professor of Obstetrics and Gynaecology in the Faculty of Medicine, Ain Shams University, Egypt with postgraduate clinical qualifications in both Obstetrics and Gynaecology and General Surgery- FRCOG (Fellowship of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, UK) and FRCS (Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons- Edinburgh, UK). He also obtained his MSc (Masters of Science) and MD (Medical Doctorate) in Obstetrics and Gynaecology from Ain Shams University.
As a clinician, Professor Rizk made important contributions to provision of clinical service in reproductive health, general gynaecology, women’s health and urogynaecology. His research interests include four main topics in Urogynaecology: Sex hormones, Epidemiology, Ethnology and Ageing. He has published more than 100 research articles and 45 Abstracts in these scientific fields.
Professor Rizk is currently a member of several committees of Professional societies including the Education, Terminology, Research and Development and Public Relations Committees of the International Urogynecological Association (IUGA); the Education and Continence Promotion Committees of the International Continence Society (ICS) and the International Federation of Obstetrics and Gynecology (FIGO) Expert Task Force Committee in Pelvic Floor Dysfunction. He currently provides peer-review consultantships for several high-impact biomedical journals. He had been a Member of the Editorial Board of the International Urogynecology Journal and Pelvic floor dysfunction (official journal of IUGA) since 2004 and became one of the Editors in 2007 until present.
